PADI Instructor Development Course – “Golden”

“Golden” package includes:

  • Full IDC course
  •  Emergency First Response Instructor course
  • Dive Theory Online
  • Emergency First Response Instructor course materials
  • PADI Instructor crewpack – includes PADI IDC eLearning & Digital Diving Knowledge Workbook (2020 edition)

Before you arrive:

Once we have received payment for your IDC, we will send you a link that will allow you to access PADI Pros eLearning.

This will enable you to study independently and at your own pace before class. There are nine interactive knowledge development sections. Completing the online section before arrival saves classroom time, which allows more time for practicing the skills that distinguish you as a PADI Instructor both in and out of the water.

If you haven’t already completed the Dive Theory Online or it’s been more than a year since you went through it, it is strongly recommended that you do so prior to starting the IDC. The program is a straightforward review of dive physics, physiology, skills, equipment and environment, plus using the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP). By successfully completing Dive Theory Online, you can also get credit for the dive theory exam requirement during your IDC.

Course Details:

the IDC teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety. Key topics include:

  • PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in water workshops.
  • Learning, Instruction and the PADI System.
  • Risk Management and Diver Safety.
  • The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor.
  • Marketing Diving and Sales Counselling.

IDC Preparation

Meet the Course Director and staff as well as completing any last-minute paperwork.
Review the five theory topics that you covered during your IDC eLearning and have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have on these subjects.

You will also complete a skill circuit to refresh the 24 skills from the PADI Divemaster.

Instructor Development Course (IDC)

PADI Assistant Instructor Course (AI)

Receive an introduction to the PADI System and learn how to conduct knowledge development presentations, confined water and open water presentations. Each section includes presentations by you and your Course Director or Staff Instructors. There are also workshop discussions.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI)

You will apply what you learned in the AI, to all PADI courses via a mix of knowledge development, confined water and open water sessions. For every programme and course that an instructor can conduct, you will learn how to conduct and promote them, and the standards that apply. You will also discuss general standards, risk management and business principles.

Emergency First Response Instructor Course (EFRI)

You are not required to be an EFR Instructor before starting your IDC, but you must become one before applying for your PADI Instructor certification. Our EFR Instructor course is scheduled conveniently to allow you to meet this requirement as soon as you pass the Instructor Examination.
